Speedcontest rules
1. Teams and categories
A speedcontest teams consists of 4 members. The team itself can decide who will participate in the different events.
Every team will compete in the same category, which means there is only one winner. Although, there will be a special price for the best novice team. A novice team is a team with all members younger than 12 years old (born in 1997 or later).
Attention: only 30 teams are allowed to participate.
2. Time limit
The duration of the competition depends on how many teams subsribe:
- up to 20 teams: 2 hours
- more than 20 teams: 3 hours
In this amount of time, every team has to make sure they finished all events. If they fail to do so, the team will be ranked last for every event that wasn't finished in time.
Every event that was started by a team before the end of the time limit, can be finished, even if the total time will pass the time limit.
45 minutes before the end of the competition, the clock is stopped for a "compulsory" break.
3. How it works
At the start of the contest, every team gets 13 coupons.
Every coupon gives you access to one event (free choice). Since there are only 8 events, every team gets 5 extra coupons to try and do better on a certain event if needed.
It is not compulsory to take part in every event.
A team can only make maximum 5 attempts on one certain event.
If a team makes more than one attempt on an event, only the best score will be used in the ranking.
Once a team gives a coupon to a jury table, the team is supposed to wait for his turn at that table. If the team is not present at his turn, the team will lose his coupon without a score on the event.
4. Ranking and points
For every event, there will be a ranking going from fastest team to slowest team.
The fastest team gets 1 point, the next team 2 points,... In case of an ex aequo between 2 or more teams, these teams will get the same amount of points.
When the time limit expires, all points are counted to make a final ranking. The winning team is the team with least (!) points.
In case of an ex aequo in the end ranking, the team with most points on event 8 (5' endurance speed) wins. In case there is still an ex aequo, both teams will be ranked equally.

Compared to the Speedcontest Vol.1, two major changes were made to the rules:

2. event 8 (endurance speed) changed to 5min instead of 10min, due to organizing reasons
KEEP THIS IN MIND!
